Graduation 2010!!

The BCLC was bathed in sunlight on a beautiful July morning, but it was a galaxy of stars that was most brilliant. Constellations of parents, grandparents, families, teachers, and volunteers had gathered to watch eleven supernovas explode into Kindergarten.

The well-rehearsed, soon-to-be graduates marched slowly to their places on the stage to the familiar cadence of Pomp and Circumstance (thank you, Morgan, for running the PA system). Teachers Elizabeth Fagerhaug and Jenny Sharp read the accomplishments during the past school year of - Dorothy, Nora, Stephanie, Allyza, Diego, Dylan, Guadalupe, Owen, Sean, Skyla and Ryan. As these achievements were celebrated, glimpses of the students’ personalities were shared with the audience - the class imp, a fashionista, an expert hand clapper, and a variety of shy and demure behaviors that would soon give way to energetic enthusiasm once the caps and gowns came off. There were tears, laughter, bouquets of beautiful roses, graduation balloons, and millions of pixels exposed to capture this significant event in the academic life of eleven super stars.

Crème de la Crème served a beautifully-presented and delicious buffet lunch, that gave everyone a chance to relax (graduations are taxing!) and talk with and about the newly-minted graduates. Graphic poster boards showing artistic creations by each graduate were posted along the covered walk, and provided springboards for more talk among family and friends of the students.

We at BCLC look forward with great anticipation to the next Pre-K class of students, and to next year’s celestial gathering at the 2011 Graduation

Again, a sincere THANK YOU to all our wonderful volunteers.
